Marshall was born and raised in Santa
Marshall Lipps
OWNER & INSTRUCTOR | 2nd Degree Black Belt
Marshall Lipps is the founder of Ocean Grown Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a second-degree black belt under Rey Diogo. He earned every belt—from white to black—and all his black belt degrees directly from Rey, with over 17 years on the mats and deep roots in the Carlson Gracie tradition, he keeps things old school—no fluff, no shortcuts, just solid Jiu-Jitsu that works anywhere!
Known for his gritty, straight-up approach on the mats, he teaches with a focus on discipline, pressure, and real-world effectiveness. Whether you’re brand new or sharpening your edge, Marshall’s mission is to build tough, humble practitioners who carry themselves with respect on and off the mat.

Perry Hauck
INSTRUCTOR
Perry Hauck holds a 4th-degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, awarded by Prof. Ricardo "Rey" Diogo of the Carlson Gracie Team, and has been an instructor since 2009, teaching at several different schools.
​In addition to his BJJ expertise, Perry is also a Black Belt in Sabaku Jutsu and holds a Senior Instructor Certificate from Impact Personal Safety, where he has taught self-defense for an extended period.
Perry's teaching style focuses on practicality, emphasizing strategies that can be applied effectively in a wide range of real-life situations, providing a down-to-earth approach to Jiu-Jitsu instruction.
Wilton Rezende, originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, was raised in Santa Monica, California.
His upbringing was marked by a passion for sports and martial arts, culminating in his achievement of a black belt under the guidance of Ricardo "Rey" Diogo, a prominent figure associated with the renowned Carlson Gracie team.
Wilton's dedication to his martial arts journey is evident as he continues to train with Rey even after attaining his black belt, making the most of his off-hours.
